Associate Professor Gerald Seals has taught management, business ethics, business law, organizational behavior, human resource management, conflict and negotiations, and strategic management since 2005. For more than twenty years, prior to his arrival and during his tenure with Newberry College, Professor Seals owned several businesses and successfully served several cities and a county as a highly regarded “change agent” chief executive officer. Seals is a highly sought after management consultant and has worked with the U. S. Defense Department and was one of three executives who advise Orange County, California sought after it declared the largest municipal bankruptcy.
Professor Seals was instrumental in establishing the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, one of the largest public risk management pools in America, having served as its Chairman of the Board of Directors. Professor Seals is the recipient of numerous awards for managerial excellence. In addition to having received several Who’s Who, and identified as an Outstanding Young Man of America, the State of Kentucky honors him as a Kentucky Colonel.
Professor Seals is the recipient of the prestigious Order of the Silver Crescent from the State of South Carolina. As a sought after speaker and presenter, Professor Seals has addressed a variety of organizations, including the House Appropriation Sub-Committee on D. C.
